Get a free Danville Public Library card and gain access to a wealth of resources. Cardholders may borrow materials such as books, DVDs, and music CDs, use public computers, and access online resources such as eBooks, language lessons, testing practice, and digital magazines.
Who Can Sign Up
Anyone who resides in the City of Danville may obtain a library card for free. Non-residents who live within a 50-mile radius of the main library may also obtain a library card for free.
Individuals under the age of 18 need a parent or guardian's signature to complete the application.
How to Sign Up
You can sign up for a library card at either of our two locations. Adults must complete and sign an application and present one of the following:
A current, valid ID with photo, name, and address (driver's license or state ID) OR
Two pieces of current identification, one of which must include name and address, and one of which must include name and photo. Accepted forms of ID include utility bill or cable bill, mail postmarked in the past 30 days, or voter registration card. PO Boxes will not be accepted.
